Professor Kerryn Phelps AM

Prof Phelps is a doctor has worked as a health commentator for over 30 years. She was the first female President to be elected to the AMA and she has fought for the rights of all Australians especially in the fields of Marriage Equality. She is a strong advocate for social justice.
Prof Phelps has received recognition for her continued contribution to the health of all Australians and was awarded the Centenary Medal and an Order of Australia for her contributions to Medicine in Australia. Prof Phelps is an Ambassador for Barnardos and a Patron for The Pinnacle Foundation and Wear it Purple. She has written several books and is both an Adjunct and Conjoint Professor at several Australian universities in the faculty of Medicine as well as continuing to practice as a GP. She currently serves as a Councillor on Sydney City Council. Prof Phelps has three children and has recently become a grandmother.
